IRIS Instruments

IRIS Instruments is a geophysical equipment manufacturer based in France. Since 1990, they enable their customers to interpret the world by bridging geophysics and digital with unmatched equipment that measure, process and interpret field data. IRIS Instruments is one of the world’s leading geophysical equipment manufacturers with four main broadband lines: Resistivity meters, Induced Polarization systems, Electromagnetic Receivers and Magnetic Resonance Sounding System

IRIS Syscal Pro Switch

The input current can be automatically adjusted (Vp request option) to ensure a minimum voltage level on all the reception channels and therefore a good measurement quality. This versatile device is designed to work in a large number of configurations (4 to 13 electrodes for manual measurement, SP measurements, sounding, profiling, 2D, roll-along, 3D and 4D monitoring surveys, etc.). For imaging measurements, Iris Instruments proposes different standard heavy-duty multi-core cables (5 traces – 10m, 10 traces – 5m and 10 traces – 10m).

It is ideal for environmental and civil engineering applications such as pollution monitoring and mapping, salinity control, depth-to-rock determination, and weathered bedrock mapping. It can also be used for shallow groundwater exploration (depth and thickness assessment of aquifers) and mining exploration.

IRIS Syscal R1 Plus Switch

Compact, easy-to-use and field-proof, the SYSCAL R1 PLUS is an all-in-one multi-node resistivity imaging system specifically designed for medium-depth exploration. It combines a power source, transmitter up to a 200W or 1200Vpp output voltage, and a 2 channel-receiver in a single unit. The different switching cards allow it to work with 24 (Switch-24) up to 72 (Switch-72) electrodes. For imaging applications, Iris Instruments proposes different standard heavy-duty multi-core cables (5 traces – 10m, 10 traces – 5m and 10 traces – 10m). The measurement is fully automatic, controlled by a microprocessor: automatic self-potential correction, automatic ranging, digital stacking for signal enhancement, error display in case of procedure troubles. The internal memory can store full information on intensity, voltage, resistivity, IP chargeability, geometrical parameters, and station number. A serial link permits the transfer of the data to a microcomputer for plotting and interpretation of the data.

IRIS T-VLF

This VLF receiver is designed for high productivity surveys, in groundwater and mining exploration.

No orientation of the operator with respect to the direction of the transmitter is required since three magnetic sensors measure the components of the VLF field. Tilt or horizontality of the sensor unit is neither required since two inclinometers are correct for tilted position.
